Leicester City might be forced into accepting offers for James Maddison and Timothy Castagne to make way for new arrivals this summer.

The Foxes are the only club in all of Europe’s top five leagues yet to bring a new player through the door, with raising funds for outgoing squad members a necessity if they are to afford the likes of Sofiane Diop, Charles de Ketelaere and Levi Colwill.

Castagne and Maddison have been key members of the squad under Brendan Rodgers. But, according to John Percy of the Telegraph, they could be the likely candidates to depart this summer.

The Belgian defender arrived from Atalanta in 2020, and is an example that players could come into the Premier League during the pandemic and perform to a high standard while settling seamlessly into a new club environment. However, with three years remaining on his contract and approaching his peak years at the age of 26, his market value may never be higher, and the East Midlands club could capitalise on that to provide a much needed cash injection.
