Leicester City’s three noticeable things

First-half rustiness continued

Even in the fourth game of the pre-season, the Foxes looked quite rusty with their implementation as usual in the first half. The through balls conjured hopes that fell rapidly with the lack of cohesion in the final third of the pitch.

The lacklustre finishes and erroneous judgments from City’s frontline left Leicester City fans hungry. Tielemans and Praet caught our attention as they were trying hard to contribute. The reliability issues remained a firm concern as the match extended towards the end of the first half.

The Belgians released the Nigerian

The second half against Derby produced goals, similar to the previous pre-seasonal friendlies. Iheanacho opened City’s account with the opening goal of the contest in a thumping fashion.

The finish was exquisite. It’s exactly why you can never count the Nigerian striker out. He could change the course of the game in a moment of brilliance, regardless of his performance before that.

The goal was reproduced from the Belgian link-up that we mentioned previously. That initial emerging pattern restored itself with devastating effects for the hosts. A thing that Rodgers needs to keep at the back of his mind for this season.
