Injury update on Leicester duo Ricardo Pereira and Harvey Barnes
Leicester City manager Brendan Rodgers has issued unjury updates on a couple of star Foxes. Ricardo Pereira and Harvey Barnes were both substituted against Sevilla following both receiving knocks in a fiesty friendly on Sunday evening.
After the ridiculous challenge by Fer Nino of Villarrealm, in which Wesley Fofana was badly injured in a so-called uncompetitive matchup, I was amazed to see another Spanish outfit repeat the mistake. On five or six occasions a Leicester player was unfairly challenged and could well have been sidelined for a lengthy period.
The Red-Whites were overzealous for literally no reason in the last spectator attended practice contest of 2022; Leicester play a behind the scenes game on Monday. Thankfully almost everyone seemed to walk away from ill-advised tackles.
In the end, the East Midlands side beat the team from Seville 1-0. The latest LCFC star to rise, Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall, got the goal which separated the two outfits on the night.

I know for a fact that I am not the only one in the Blue Army to be worried about players during that 90 minutes. When the prominent squad members – James Maddison, etcetera – went down clutching their legs, we all collectively winced. Unfortunately there were knocks, ranging in severity, for a couple of important Foxes.
After the final whistle, Brendan Rodgers spoke to media to offer his opinion on proceedings. Along with news on problems his athlete’s sustained. The Northern Irishman specifically talked about substituted pair Harvey Barnes and Ricardo Pereira.
Barnes has the least severe prognosis from King Power medical staff. Apparently the England international’s knee strain is OK; Rodgers added that the 24-year-old seems fine and will be assessed Monday.
Meanwhile details on Ricardo were more unsettling. There is hope that the Portuguese shall be alright, though Rodgers said the troubled area “doesn’t look good”.
