Fabrizio Romano has spoken on the potential of a swap deal regarding Leicester City defender Wesley Fofana and Chelsea centreback Levi Colwill.

If Leicester are to lose Wesley Fofana – which Foxes of Leicester is dead against, unless a record fee transpires – then a new, almost equally talented centreback must be added to the Foxes squad. That candidate should be somewhere near as promising as the Frenchman, if at all possible.

And just to make the task extra difficult for the East Midlands team, the prospect has to cost much less so the profit from selling Fofana can be invested elsewhere. Not a lot to ask then.

LCFC fans were pleased that the former Saint-Etienne man had a reported £85million price tag. That means he’ll stay on Filbert Way or make the club loads of money. Or maybe Leicester could angle to take up-and-coming Chelsea centrehalf Levi Colwill off the Blues’ hands in a part exchange.

Meanwhile CFC have made Fofana their ‘number one target’, claims Fabrizio Romano. Romano also states that Thomas Tuchel’s outfit are willing to discuss all manner of swap deals during this window. However, LCFC discussions over Colwill are apparently singular, at present. If that did happen, the Foxes would also obviously receive cash, too.

Where Leicester City’s Ryan Bertrand has been

Unfortunately for former Southampton duo Jannik Vestergaard and Ryan Bertrand, their respective time at Leicester has been calamitous. The Blue Army were further shocked to see the East Midlands side linked with a third Saints defender from the startling 9-0 defeat a few years back. Though Jan Bednarek is seemingly of a higher calibre, the intention from LCFC felt unnecessary and misguided.

Another recent surprise was Leicester supposedly rejecting a transfer offer for Vestergaard. Unless the bid was pitifully low, the majority of supporters were presumably concerned as to why it was declined.

But where is Bertrand, you may say? The England international was injured at the end of the last season, and was the only senior player not to appear for the Foxes over the offseason. We now know that he shall remain sidelined for some time because he underwent knee surgery again. No return date was announced in the report; Rodgers did not mention the leftback during recent post-match interviews, either.
