Arsenal entertain Leicester City on Saturday afternoon in the Premier League. This is Foxes of Leicester’s predicted Leicester XI, before the Fantasy Premier League deadline.

There were mixed fortunes for the Gunners and the Foxes in the first gameweek of 2022/23. AFC won 2-0 versus Crystal Palace, whereas LCFC threw away their two-goal lead against Brentford. While big things are anticipated for the Londoners this season, on the contrary, many people envision a regressive campaign for the East Midlanders.

One reason for a lack of optimism concerning the King Power outfit is becasue they haven’t made any significant transfers this summer. Though a new third choice goalkeeper has arrived; Alex Smithies joins the roster as an experienced but fairly inconsequential addition.

Hot. LCFC bosses are not impressed with Newcastle. light

Leicester manager Brendan Rodgers has been edging toward a three-centreback setup for sometime, and employed one in the Bees clash. With Mikel Arteta also using three at the back in the Selhurst Park victory, Rodgers is likely to match the Spaniard, in my opinion.

Now FoL reveal our expected starting XI, below. Going from left to right, in a 3-5-2 formation which Rodgers often alters during matches. One element of my team people may disagree with is the reintroduction of Caglar Soyuncu. This is understandable, yet the Turk improved in preseason and Daniel Amartey was criticised in the season opener.

Danny Ward GK; Soyuncu, Jonny Evans, Wesley Fofana CBs; James Justin, Timothy Castagne WBs; Wilfred Ndidi, Youri Tielemans, Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall CM; James Maddison FW; Jamie Vardy ST.

Jonny Evans’ words will spur on Leicester City supporters

As you will know, dependable Foxes centrehalf Jonny Evans has recently been appointed LCFC captain. This comes after service as vice captain under former skipper Kasper Schmeichel. Now the Northern Ireland international is the main leader.

Next. 3 Positions LCFC still need to strengthen. dark

Speaking on becoming Brendan Rodgers’ mouthpiece for the squad, Evans says the trust offered made him the “happiest” he’s been in a “long time”. The defender, now the veteran of the side at age 34, also said he’s looking forward to more responsibility, as well as promising to “lead by example”.
