Daniel Amartey is a liability– I am sorry, but Amartey doesn’t fit the bill of dubbing himself a Premier League quality defender. With the prolonged problems in City’s defense, it’s always a risk to start the Ghana international over obvious choices like Çağlar Söyüncü. Amartey has been slow and sluggish. Despite that, he has enjoyed his selection under Rodgers this season.

Against Chelsea, Amartey was barely keeping up with their offense. Jonny Evans had to sweep up his mess for most of the game. What does that speak about the manager? The harsh exclusion of Söyüncü should not continue to go on like this- it is just not a good sign.

Jamie Vardy’s ineffective role– Another thing that hasn’t been working for Leicester is Jamie Vardy. He is continuing to play in a diminished quality of his former self. The 35-year-old has been struggling regularly to score, having assisted only twice this season.

Furthermore, the exclusion of Patson Daka and Kelechi Iheanacho in the pecking order is another worry that needs addressing. Something needs to change. Rodgers must find another way to utilize everyone according to their strengths. Vardy’s role must be reduced to a rotatory one to promote Daka and Iheanacho. They are currently being wasted again by being rusty benchwarmers.
