Before Wesley Fofana began his careful and deliberate campaign to force a move to Chelsea, Leicester City’s options at centre-back meant that his position was not a priority for immediate improvement. Fast forward a fortnight, and all of a sudden the middle of defence looks quite bare, particularly given Daniel Amartey’s wobbly start to the Premier League campaign and Caglar Soyuncu’s apparent lack of desire on the training pitch.

Once the cheque for Fofana clears, which is expected to be an initial £70million, Brendan Rodgers will surely be in touch with a replacement straight away. One player who has been linked with a switch to the King Power is Loic Badé, of Stade Rennais. A 22-year old, right-footed centre back.

Badé, like Leicester alumnus Riyad Mahrez, spent time playing for Le Havre, and similarly to Fofana, is attracting interest from the Premier League despite making fewer than 50 appearances in the French top division. Here at Foxes of Leicester, we decided to deconstruct the defender into three things Foxes fans should know about their latest transfer target.
