Well needed pace for Leicester City

Compared to all of Leicester’s central defensive options, Todibo has a turn of speed and acceleration they could only wish for. The arrival of Wout Faes might indicate that a three-back system is not Rodgers’ plans, but if the Nice defender was to walk through the Seagrave doors, that option could still be there.

Daniel Amartey, arguably the quickest of the three defenders currently vying for a Foxes centre back spot, has been at fault for at least three goals so far this campaign, so if Todibo arrives, he will hope to impress and replace the Ghanaian. Jonny Evans has never relied on his pace, but is notoriously injury prone, so the Nice man could provide some important cover with his agility and ability to make defensive recovery runs.

Jean-Clair Todibo is good with his feet

Brendan Rodgers has always gravitated towards players who are comfortable playing with the ball on the ground, no matter what position they play in. For the rest of his faults, even Jannik Vestergaard looks happy and content operating as a ball-playing defender, as do the majority of the Foxes’ centre back options.
