Leicester City lost 2-5 at the Amex Stadium yesterday afternoon in Brighton, the two Leicester goals coming from Kelechi Iheanacho and Patson Daka, with both goals coming in the first half.

Leicester City team selection

I’ll start this off by discussing Danny Ward, I’m sorry but I think it’s time we gave Daniel Iversen a chance in goal. Ward had an awful game yesterday, it was just an absolute shambles, for the second goal he dives to the left and the third goal dives to the right, now I’m no goalkeeping expert but surely if he dives the opposite ways in both scenarios he has a chance of at least getting a touch on the ball and potentially even saving them from going in the back of the net. Not only could he have prevented these two goals but when he went to play the ball at his feet and a Brighton player took it off him, oh my, a piece of me died inside, I thought oh for gods sake, I just really question what’s going on in his head sometimes.

It’s not the first time he’s made mistakes either, Jadon Sancho’s goal in the Manchester United game was down to him too as he launched the ball, lost possession and suddenly they were on the attack, then boom, goal.

Not only has Ward been making mistakes in goal but there seems to be a lack of communication between him and his defence, which was clearly shown by Wilfred Ndidi who was not best pleased with Ward yesterday, I mean who can blame him!

I bet Iversen was sat on the bench yesterday afternoon thinking blimey what do I have to do to be picked ahead of this, regardless of whether Rodgers is still here (fingers and everything crossed he’s not) Iversen deserves a place in that starting XI, he may be young but if he’s got what it takes then it doesn’t matter and I’m sure he’ll be better than what we’ve got at the minute.

When I saw the team news come out at 1pm yesterday and saw Iheanacho and Daka names on the sheet, I couldn’t have been more happier, no offence to Jamie Vardy but he hasn’t been the best as of late and just because he is who is is doesn’t mean he should start every game regardless. I felt Iheanacho and Daka seemed to gel well and they looked really good up top together, it was refreshing to see two up top and I think we need to stick with that, have we finally found the solution up top? Personally I think this is the way forward, Vardy isn’t getting any younger and Iheanacho and Daka deserved the chance and they damn well proved it yesterday.
