Foxes of Leicester reveal and discuss the soon-to-be new capacity of Leicester City’s King Power Stadium now that building plans have been approved. Additionally, there is an injury update from manager Brendan Rodgers.

At long last, Leicester have finally gotten the go ahead to expand their ground. There will be an increase of about 8,000 seats at KPS at some stage. That means the future capacity will be up to approximately 40,000 from the contemporary 32,312, more Foxes to fill the stadium and make even more noise!

Building will focus on the East Stand, which will receive an upper tier. The proposed expansion shall see a ‘wrap around’ the existing North Stand and the opposing South Stand. LCFC will then potentially have the 10th largest home in the Premier League.

Spectators can also expect to eventually see a fanzone, a new club shop, extra hospitality suites, catering facilities, a ‘sensory room’, a first aid room, a separate indoor arena and a multi-storey car park for cars and bicycles. No real timeline is offered for completion amongst the information given.

Injury to Leicester City’s Dennis Praet discussed

If you were Dennis Praet, would you be content at Leicester? I’m not so sure I would be. He clearly has the talent, expertise and experience to have been more involved in proceedings for the east Midlands team over the past couple of years.

For whatever reason, manager Brendan Rodgers didn’t favour the Belgium international. Maybe Praet was considered too talented for a substitute role by his boss, and himself. Regardless of that, the latter does seem to have a role now; how significant it is remains to be seen.

However, the midfielder has now unfortunately sustained a foot injury. Luckily the problem isn’t too serious, as Rodgers says Praet was sidelined for “a few days” but is expected to be “okay” for the Tottenham Hotspur visit on Saturday. Get the man playing as soon as he is fit, I say! Players with his commitment and skill set could turn this season around.
