Two clubs Rodgers rejected to stay at Leicester revealed
The two Premier League clubs Brendan Rodgers supposedly rejected in order to remain as Leicester City’s manager have been revealed.
The Leicester side really proved two things on Saturday as they lost away from home in the Premier League in rather pitiable fashion to newly promoted Bournemouth. First of all, this Foxes squad should be challenging in the top half of the division. Secondly, they are heading toward a predictable relegation battle before we actually get to Christmas.
Incidentally, the east Midlands team have not managed to secure any points on the road so far this season. That fact alone is surely grounds for Brendan Rodgers’ dismissal.
However, the Northern Irishman goes on at Leicester. No defeat has been enough to convince chairman Khun Top Srivaddhanaprabha to relieve the former Liverpool, Swansea City and Celtic boss of his duty at King Power Stadium. Although losing to the Cherries, even though they are currently in the EPL’s top half, is a sign that LCFC will be struggling as long as they continue with Rodgers.
Prior to yet another disastrous LCFC loss in the English top-flight on the South Coast, Rodgers declared that he had the opportunity to leave the Foxes on two occasions and obviously declined to do so. Much of the Blue Army now seem to wish the gaffer had taken the chance with one of these outfits.
Rob Tanner of The Athletic enlightened us on the matter a couple of days ago. The journalist and his publication are credible, if you’re wondering and unfamiliar with them. In familiar and true Brent, sorry, Rodgers fashion, he proclaimed his ‘loyalty’ to Leicester by supposedly rejecting other clubs.
It was during his pre-match press conference for the meeting with the Dorset side that Rodgers divulged the information. Nevertheless, the 49-year-old’s revelation did not include the names of the potentially suitors.
The Athletic suggests that they were Arsenal and Newcastle United, both teams having vacancies at the time which are satisfactorily filled in the contemporary era. Would the Magpies fans or Gunners supporters swap now if they could? No they would not.
