Bartłomiej Drągowski has the record for most saves in a Serie A game

While out on loan at Empoli, the 20-year-old made history. On Apr. 15, 2019 Empoli went up against Atalanta. Fighting for a champions league spot, Atalanta let the shots rain on Drągowski and the Empoli defense. They recorded 47 shots with 18 of them being on target. Drągowski saved 17 of those shots.

Against the likes of Duvan Zapata, Alejandro Gomez and Josip Illicic, the then 20-year-old was able to record a historic accomplishment. The game would end in a 0-0 draw as Atalanta was not able to draw even on points with fourth place AC Milan.

Leicester City target started playing professionally at the age of 15.

At just the age of 15 years old, Drągowski signed his first ever professional contract. Playing for Ekstraklasa Jagiellonia, he was called up to their main team in the 13/14 season. He would only make one appearance that season where he allowed four goals and made three saves.

The following season, he would be Jagiellonia’s starting goalkeeper. The Polish native would make 34 starts where he was able to record eight clean sheets. His side would finish 11th in the league. This was the last season Drągowski has not played in the Serie A.
