Leicester City 0-0 Crystal Palace: three things Foxes of Leicester learnt
By Alice Wright
Wout Faes again looked strong and composed in one-on-one situations but also around the pitch and making those all important tackles. Daniel Amartey made a few mistakes at times playing with the ball at his feet and allowing the Eagles to take the ball off him and go through on goal, luckily the attempt was poor.
Another mistake came when the Ghanaian didn’t take a second look before playing the ball back to Danny Ward and putting him under pressure from a Palace player. James Justin and Timothy Castagne played well and linked up nicely with their triangles on the wings.
James Maddison and Patson Daka linkup
It’s unfortunate that James Maddison will miss out against Leeds on Thursday evening after being booked for simulation on Saturday afternoon. Him and Patson Daka played well together all game, early into the second half Maddison supplied Daka with the ball to get him through on goal, shot on target, keeper saves and parries it out but the linesman flags for offside.
The Zambian international had some good chances, in the first half he made it through on goal against two men but there were no Leicester players racing to get up with him leaving him with no one in the box. Next up, Leicester face 15th place Leeds United at home on Thursday evening before travelling to 17th place Wolves on the Sunday for a 2pm kickoff. That makes two so-called ‘six-pointers’ there.
