Last time out, Leicester City finally managed to put together back-to-back wins courtesy of a 4-0 thrashing of Wolverhampton Wanderers. This has given fans and the players new-found confidence as LCFC at last ended the week outside the relegation zone.

Unfortunately, the next fixture is set to be a daunting challenge, as champions Manchester City visit the King Power Stadium. Whether or not they arrive with Erling Haaland is another question, but City will have to be on top form to even think about getting anything out of this fixture. Nevertheless, the Foxes often thrive as the underdogs, with there being little pressure on them to get anything out of this game.

Leicester City team news

Leicester City may welcome back two players from injury, in the form of Wilfried Ndidi and Jonny Evans. Both have been absent for the past two games with hamstring and calf problems respectively. In Brendan Rodgers’ press conference, he stated that of the two, Ndidi is fit to play whilst Evans is to undergo a late assessment. The question is, will Brendan Rodgers potentially upset what seems to be working to bring back his established names?

Predicted XI

Leicester City will likely retain the same formation that has served them so well over recent matches, lining up in a 4-3-3. FoL hopes Rodgers will avoid upsetting the apple cart by retaining a similar line-up as follows. The dilemmas of course lie in three key areas; centre-back, defensive-midfield and striker.

The first two depend not just on the fitness of Evans and Ndidi but also the performances of Amartey and Soumare, which have been much improved of late. There is a strong argument to suggest that both deserve to keep their place for such a monumental occasion.

In terms of who starts up front, Jamie Vardy got back to scoring ways last game but Patson Daka’s pace and pressing may prove invaluable against the high defensive line of Manchester City. Therefore, whilst the rest of the line-up speaks for itself, expect potential changes for LCFC in these three highlighted areas.
