Leicester City were looking to claim their fourth win of the season away to Everton at Goodison Park on Saturday evening. Here are Foxes of Leicester’s player ratings for the match.

Brendan Rodgers made two changes from his side who were narrowly defeated 1-0 by Manchester City. Patson Daka and Boubakary Soumare came back into the side to replace Jamie Vardy and Caglar Soyuncu.

Leicester were hoping to burst out of the relegation zone with a victory taking them up to 13th place, before Sunday’s matches conclude. All three points would be massive for City, not only for their league position and points, but for their confidence as a team.

Leicester City looked the more dominant side, with the Foxes looking particularly good going forward. An outstanding goal from Youri Tielemans put Leicester ahead in the first-half, but Everton put pressure on Leicester’s defence. In the second-half, Harvey Barnes added to his goal tally with a shot from 14 yards, as James Maddison shone with yet another world-class performance. So how did FoL score the east Midlands side?

Leicester City goalkeeper and defenders

Danny Ward: 8 – made some very good saves, quick distributions, he looked comfortable on corners and cleared the ball easily, also kept another clean sheet.

Timothy Castagne: 6 – often lost possession of the ball and gave it away easily.

Daniel Amartey: 6 – had a poor touch on the ball at times and was slow in possession which allowed opposition to close him down and win the ball. He was also strong and fought off an Everton player to win the ball.

Wout Faes: 7 – made important clearances and blocks when he needed to.

James Justin: 6 – Let Anthony Gordon get past him which forced Faes to come across and clear, made some nice runs up the pitch, won defensive headers.

Midfielders

Boubakary Soumare: 6 – got caught out for Alex Iwobi’s chance by giving away the ball. Was there as an option for his team-mates to pass to, though.

Harvey Barnes: 7 – looked good going forward but lacked a final product before scoring his goal. His goal came on the counter attack, turned inside of his man and took his shot from 14 yards out.

Youri Tielemans: 8 – was there to pick up the second balls in the middle of the park, his goal was spectacular, also tracked back to help out the defence.

James Maddison: 9 – excellent as always, had lots of good chances at goal, two assists to add to his tally but doesn’t do him justice on how good his performance was.

Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall: 6 – ‘KDH’ intercepted the ball in the build up to Tielemans’ goal, has a lot of energy and makes runs to support his team-mates.

Strikers

Patson Daka: 6 – showed pace as he beat two Everton players to the ball, had chances in front of goal. Nothing too special but played a solid role.
