Leicester City fans are utterly confused

‘It’s a funny old game’ is arguably the wisest of all football observations from the late, great Jimmy Greaves. But Leicester City’s form in the opening 15 games is bewildering so it’s worth pausing on this and reflecting, as we settle into some controversial World Cup action. Here are some stats from the first seven games:

  • 20th in the league.
  • one point
  • No wins
  • 10 goals scored
  • 22 goals conceded
  • 0 clean sheets

When we look at the last eight league games, the change is extraordinary:

12th in the league

16 points

five wins

three goals conceded

15 goals scored

six clean sheets

Trending. Leicester’s warm weather training camp for players not at World Cup. light

The King Power club have improved in all areas on the pitch and are sitting high in the form table. Although there will be many pointing fingers at the ones that wanted Rodgers out (myself included), this turnaround in form is the polar opposite of the start of the season in terms of stats and character. It’s baffling to say the least and has Foxes fans completely confused as to what their manager and players were doing in the opening games of the season. Hopefully what we’re seeing now is a sign of things to come. Enjoy the World Cup everyone!
