Which players could leave?

The window doesn’t just give the club a chance to sign much needed quality, but also allows out-of-favour players an escape. Dennis Praet’s lack of game time has meant he missed out on a World Cup place for Belgium and given the form of Maddison, he is unlikely to earn his place back.

A great player on his day, Praet is too good to be stuck on the bench and the Foxes will be happy to cash in on him whilst they can. Another who could leave is Caglar Soyuncu. The Turkish centre back has been outwardly criticised by Rodgers and is clearly not part of his plans for the defence.

The big worry for fans, however, is James Maddison. Still yet to sign a new contract with the club, Maddison remains a key target for Newcastle United as they aim to qualify for the Champions League.

With the money injected by their Saudi-state owners, and the desire of Maddison to play on the biggest stage, if the Magpies do make a serious offer for the attacker, the Foxes will have to at least consider it.

Other than Maddison, if the likes of Papy Mendy, Daniel Amartey, or Timothy Castagne have outstanding World Cups, then a chorus of clubs could well be after them. It promises to be a busy time at Seagrave in January. Watch this space.
