I would expect a two-year extension as the international ‘CB’ starts to appear in the team less and less. After all, the Northern Irish gaffer will be looking to freshen up at the back with another permanent addition alongside the Belgian ‘signing of the season’.

Amartey is an odd one. Although I feel he lacks the quality to really offer the King Power side the right role in defence, I also cannot disagree with those who point to a consistent and predictable style of play mixes with plenty of passion. The Ghanaian performs well most of the time, regardless of the mistakes he does often make.

Leicester are not int he position to lose both Cags and ‘Big Dan’ at once. I expect a two-year extension for the defender to be sold should the Foxes manage to acquire a fresher – more athletic – defender to replace him.

Two midfielders + a forward

The Belgian ‘Starman’ Youri Tielemans and our Senegalese defensive midfielder Papy Mendy are coming towards the end of their time here at the King Power. For the Belgian, we know multiple super clubs are vying to show the man a project. For Mendy, it is his time to leave.

Should a transfer not materialise for the Belgian international, I expect a one year or two year extension to his stay with the Foxes. Rodgers loves the player, the player loves the club, and better league performances could convince the player to extend his stay a short while. This being said, he will leave at some point regardless.

Mendy has to leave. The King Power club are scouting midfielders to take his place and possibly Tielemans’, so there remains no room for the international-grade midfielder. He has performed well, he deserves our respect, but he also deserves to be playing. It is time to go.

Meanwhile, Spanish forward Ayoze Perez will be out the door in the summer. I sincerely doubt Rodgers wants to keep the man, especially since the coach has been utilising James Maddison as ‘RW’ and is scouting for a new winger to boot. ‘Ayo’ will have no extension offered and will move back to his homeland to see out the remainder of his career.
