The midfielder Leicester are looking to replace Praet with
Leicester City may be looking to get active in the January transfer window.
If the Foxes decide to move on from Belgian midfielder Dennis Praet, they’re rumored to potentially ignite their interest in Ivorian Coast midfielder Jeremie Boga. You can see the story here.
The East Midlands team supposedly made a couple of attempts at signing Boga during the summer transfer. They made a strong attempt on deadline day, but nothing followed through. Boga has not seen much playing time at Atalanta this season.
The 25-year-old has made six appearances off the bench for the Serie A squad and has only spent 80 minutes on the pitch. Despite not contributing much at Atalanta, Brendan Rodgers and the Leicester City staff still see the same player that was fantastic at Sassuolo.
Like Boga, Praet has not been getting enough minutes at his respective club. In seven appearances for Leicester City, Praet has not contributed a goal or an assist. This lack of playing time has inspired the Serie A squad, Torino, to make a push for the 28-year-old. Praet played for Torino on loan last season. In 23 appearances he was able to score two goals and assist two more.
Torino was interested in signing Praet during the summer transfer window. However, they were not willing to meet Leicester City’s asking value of €15million. With the Belgian not getting playing time, it is likely Torino could get him for a reduced transfer fee. If this deal were to go through, LCFC would heavily pursue the signature of Boga.
In Boga’s four seasons with Sassuolo, he scored 18 goals and contributed seven assists. He showed dominance as an attacking midfielder and a player out wide. He could bring needed versatility to Leicester City as he could be placed in a variety of positions. Boga currently has a transfer value of around €15m, matching the earlier figure mentioned.
