Younger stars

As said before, I expect a stronger than usual lineup for the Carabao Cup, but we could still see some of Leicester’s younger faces make appearances. Lewis Brunt, Kasey McAteer, Sammy Braybrooke, and Will Alves were all involved in training leading up to the game, with all four travelling to Abu Dhabi for the Foxes’ training camp during the World Cup.

Brunt is still managing a slight injury, so is a doubt for the game, meanwhile McAteer slotted in at right back for the friendly games last week and could be an option to start with Castagne used on the left. Traditionally an attacking midfielder, it certainly would be an interesting option to use.

Whilst McAteer is the only one who has a chance of starting, we still could see further appearances from Alves and Braybrooke from the bench. As the game goes on, both could add a much-needed spark in midfield if Rodgers wants to rest the legs of Tielemans, Ndidi, or KDH. It won’t be a game for the youngsters, but they may well still have an involvement in the tie and could then feature more heavily in the next round.
