Leicester 0-3 Newcastle: 5 players who let the team down
Faes went 25% in his aerial duel attempts along with going 5/11 on accurate long balls. Faes recently returned from a Belgium squad that stunk the bed at the World Cup. Hopefully, that didn’t take a toll on Faes. The Leicester City season depends on if he can play well.
Boubakary Soumare
It was a poor performance from the French midfielder. He left a gaping hole in the midfield which Newcastle made sure to take advantage of. A poor challenge from Soumare allowed Chris Wood to score a penalty in the third minute of the game. Along with the terrible defending, Soumare didn’t contribute anything offensively to the game. He was just out there getting a cardio workout in. This performance may have allowed Nampalys Mendy to get a chance in the starting eleven.
Daniel Amartey
This season it has looked like Amartey could not be in the right position defensively if his life was on the line. The Ghana native simply hasn’t looked Premier League caliber.
Newcastle’s attackers were targeting Amartey’s poor positioning and they were able to find opportunities throughout the game. With Leicester looking to potentially sign a center-back in the January transfer window, Amartey has to step up his caliber if he wants to remain in the starting eleven.
