Leicester City were looking to bounce back with a win after falling to defeat at the King Power Stadium on Boxing Day. This time their opponents were sixth place Liverpool away at Anfield. Here are Foxes of Leicester’s player ratings for the match.

Brendan Rodgers made two changes to his Leicester City side that lost 3-0 to Newcastle United on Boxing Day: Wilfred Ndidi replaced Youri Tielemans and Ayoze Perez for Dennis Praet. It got off to the dream start for Leicester when Shepshed lad Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall put City 1-0 up after four minutes played. It all went down-hill from there after Wout Faes put the ball in Danny Ward’s net, not once, but twice. Leicester had lots of opportunities in front of goal in the second half but couldn’t deliver. It ended 2-1 to Liverpool on a very long and cold night at Anfield.

Danny Ward: 6 – can’t fault him for the first goal, was lucky that his distribution that hit Mo Salah and went in the back of the net was ruled off for Darwin Nunez being offside. Made a couple of good saves to deny Liverpool.
