3 things learned as Leicester fall to another defeat
By Ethan Henson
Ironically, his best performance was probably in the second half against Liverpool, following his disastrous double salvo of own goals before half time. Even then, he had presented the home side with a golden chance with a grossly under hit back pass late on.
Injuries are becoming a factor again
A lot of Leicester City’s struggles since club football’s return can be put down to the amount of players they have on the treatment table. There is no excuse for not being able to put the ball in the net against Fulham, but taking six starters out of any side would lead to them performing fundamentally poorer.
Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall limped off after the warm up, and Boubakary Soumare limped off after just six minutes. Add these casualties to full-backs James Justin and Ricardo Pereira, as well as the newer ailments of Maddison, Jonny Evans and Patson Daka, and all of a sudden half of your team is missing.
This is the fourth season in a row where City have suffered an injury crisis, and concerns are growing that this is no longer a pattern, rather simply the norm with the club. Leicester City, when everybody is fit, will be nowhere near a relegation battle, but the more the treatment table mounts up, the higher the possibility there is of City being sucked towards one.
