Leicester in talks with leftback target and transfer looks promising
Leicester City have seemingly selected their priority leftback transfer target and a move looks promising, if a reliable source is to be believed. Foxes of Leicester discuss the potential move.
As we always say here at FoL, when John Percy talks – Midlands football fans listen. Well, on this occasion it is the reporter’s colleague Sam Dean who has offered information on a possible upcoming LCFC signing. Yet the story is co-signed by the former.
A leftback is needed at Leicester, that fact is indisputable. And the Foxes are supposedly in talks with Victor Kristiansen of F.C. Copenhagen. At 20, Kristiansen is considered one of the best upcoming fullbacks around. There is plenty more to come on this one.
Losing at home to Fulham is generally unacceptable, especially without scoring but Leicester City squad is depleted once more
That’s right, defeat to the Cottagers wasn’t palatable at all for the Blue Army in attendance at King Power Stadium. No. The situation isn’t quite at the desperate stage where an outcome such as that one was predictable. Yet it is going that way for Brendan Rodgers and his team, sadly.
After an error by Luke Thomas – slightly out of his depth at Premier League level, currently, in my opinion – led to the Fulham goal and eventual winner, the defending wasn’t too atrocious. Although, the attacking department leaves much to be desired. I am surprised that Kelechi Iheanacho hasn’t left Filbert Way by now, considering how little faith and trust the LCFC boss has for the Nigerian.
Other peripheral options on the wing and in the forward line, like Ayoze Perez and Marc Albrighton, certainly give their all but to little or no avail. Whether that is the fault of the understudy duo is the question, though answers and solutions are up for debate.
The reasons why backup pair Perez and Albrighton are even playing in the first place illuminate contemporary issues at Leicester City Football Club, and they are ones that have plagued the outfit for a few years now: injuries and fitness. Nine senior, important players are said to be sidelined at the moment, which is a real worry for Rodgers and supporters alike.
Foxes of Leicester will report more on the status of the roster over the next day or two, as the east Midlands side prepare for their next game. Expect a couple of young Foxes to make up the number along with some debuts versus Gillingham in the FA Cup Third Round on Saturday.
