Leicester City spent the first half trying to fend off Newcastle. They had 12 shots compared to the east Midlands side’s three. The Magpies almost scored in the first minute but luckily Longstaff pulled an open shot wide right. Guimaraes was close on multiple shot attempts but, none of them could hit the back of the net. The foxes had their best chance when Castagne found Daka on a run. The striker had a one-on-one opportunity against Pope. Instead of taking the chance, Daka passed it up and tried passing it to Barnes; which led to an interception. The first half would end with neither team scoring.

Newcastle scored first in the 59’. Castagne gave the ball right back to Newcastle next to the box. Joelinton passed it Burn who then did a solo run into the box. He would then put the ball between Amartey’s leg and finished the shot. Truly an embarrassing goal to allow. They would score again in the 72’. Almiron would give Joelinton a through ball who absolutely dusted Albrighton. He would stay composed and finish on Ward. Vardy would get a wide-open shot in the 73’ but put it wide of the goal. Exactly one minute later, he would get the same chance but put it wide on the other side of the goal. An absolute disaster of a substitution.

Overall, City firmly deserved to lose this game. They played terribly and clearly have lost their confidence. Unless something gets done about the owners, management or players, every game will look exactly like this. There is nothing to look forward to as a Leicester City fan at the moment.
