A much-needed meeting has recently taken place between Top Khun Srivaddhanaprabha and Brendan Rodgers.

The first half of this season has been rough for Leicester City. The foxes are currently fourteenth in Premier League with 18 points. That is just one spot away from a relegation spot. The east Midlands team has yet to win an EPL game since November 12th in a 2-0 victory over West Ham United. With the LCFC squad not playing well, almost no transfer coming in, and certain fans pressuring the exit of Rodgers and even Khun Top, they had a meeting together.

The summit took place before the 2-2 draw with Brighton & Hove Albion. The Northern Irishman stated that the owner is a great man who understands the state of the roster at the moment. Rodgers stated that Top was in good spirits and seemed fine. In addition, the gaffer also reiterated the following about the King Power club’s ambitions:

"“The chairman is so determined and ambitious for club to be the best it can be,’ said Rodgers. “This season has been a challenge but it doesn’t lessen ambition of him and the board, which should be great news for the fans. I understand we’re in a position where we haven’t been for a few years and that can be tough [for fans] to take. We have to do things in a different way because the resources are not the same.”"

Despite Rodgers’ view of LCFC ambition, it is clear Top has slowed down investment in the team. This could be due to multiple reasons: a load of money was invested into the expansion of the stadium and the new training ground. Both are very nice, I’m sure. Unfortunately, when that investment poured into renovations and building, the Leicester chief’s business took a heavy hit due to the covid pandemic.

These financial issues have raised a lot of eyebrows from supporters. However, questions must also be asked about Rodgers: is he the right man to help us avoid relegation? Can this group avoid the drop in general? This season, LCFC dropped 19 points from winning positions; that figure puts the club in first place in the ‘dropping points’ table by a decent amount. This is due to poor play, obviously. Yet I think more blame has to go onto Rodgers’ shoulders than what has been assigned.

The second we go a goal up, the manager decides to sit back and defend for our lives. Our defense is simply not good enough to do that, it has been illustrated too many times this campaign. The tactics of the former Liverpool head coach have cost us big time and partly, or majorly, placed us into this precarious situation.

The club is in one of the worst situations it has ever been in under the Srivaddhanaprabhas. We have almost no money to sign players or actually, apparently, afford Rodgers’ release clause. The Leicester boss has shown a lack of ambition, and our players’ morales are non-existent in some cases – not you, Marc Albrighton, and a few others. A big reality check must take place soon or Championship football and heavy setback may become a reality.
