The possible free agent is simply not as good, but could operate as a rotation option for Boubakary Soumare or even Papy Mendy should his fine form be rewarded with a new deal. This being said, the player is more positionally astute in the defensive parameters than the Belgian. So although he might not offer as much actively, he at least covers space better than Tielemans.

I will not lie: my heart is not set on this one. Dahoud is a decent player, experienced, and with a winning mentality already; however, there is little ambition in replacing the Belgian with an older, finished article with little flare or technical prowess in the pass. That is where the Foxes should be focusing: identifying technical passers who can come on rotationally rather than being the beating heart of a team.

Furthermore, I should hope there are many more options on the list. We shall see more names thrown in the hat as summer slowly approaches, although midfielders will not be the primary area of change. Defenders and wingers will need some work for Leicester City to improve their squad depth. Maybe Rodgers’ team should be looking at goalkeepers instead as well.
