James Maddison is reportedly likely to sign for one of these three Premier League clubs if he decides to leave Leicester City and the Foxes hierarchy sanction a transfer.

At Foxes of Leicester, we are mostly – if not entirely – Leicester supporters. We therefore find it naturally upsetting to discuss the potential departure of the Foxes’ best players. That sentiment really goes without saying. The King Power side’s eminent assets are constantly linked away, realistically or otherwise, especially thanks to certain views consisting of LCFC being a small club.

The aforementioned opinion is clearly untrue and rather ignorant because of the team’s modern Premier League and FA Cup history. Even in Europe, Leicester shone in two of the three competitions in contemporary times. Nevertheless, the most high profile and distinguished stars continue to be connected with transfers; Maddison being the primary candidate due to his regularly illustrious ways.

This season, Maddison really cemented his place as a preeminent world midfielder. I recently published an article which states some facts and statistics that actually put ‘Madders’ ahead of Manchester City supremo, Kevin De Bruyne. To merely be on a par with the multi-talented Belgium International must be thrilling for Maddison, who has outscored his EPL rival whilst playing in a similar position over five campaigns.

This is simply stunning form for the former Norwich City man. I am not surprised that teams with the status of Man City are supposedly interested in acquiring Maddison’s talents. Along with Pep Guardiola, Eddie Howe and Antonio Conte would apparently like the Leicester player on their rosters at Newcastle United and Tottenham Hotspur respectively, too.

With regard to calibre – would the 26-year-old get into the Citizens, Magpies or Spurs lineups? Sure, I reckon he’s at that level, certainly the latter two sides. De Bruyne is ahead overall, but imagine the pair as dual No.10s! Conte is in need of a Maddison-type at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium. Meanwhile, Newcastle’s XI would also be enhanced with the playmaker’s addition. We’re still sticking to the hope that he’ll sign a new LCFC contract.
