The inclusion of the Nigerian from the start more often has unfortunately for Daka not meant a change in formation to a two-up-top system. Tete is now sitting on the right touch line and stretching the play with Harvey Barnes doing the same on the other side, allowing Iheanacho to roam across the front line alone and cause problems for opposition defences by dragging players around with him, thus creating more space.

This all leaves Daka in an uncertain position – he might be wondering whether his manager sees a future for him at the club, and whether this change in tactic means he might never get back into the side. The question now remains, what should he do, and what should the club do in the summer when it comes to his transfer status?

After leaving Austria for the Premier League, the Zambian signed a five-year deal which takes him up to 2026, meaning he has three more seasons after this to continue with Leicester City. This allows the East Midlands club a year’s grace to decide what they’d like to do, with the ideal time to make a judgment on a player’s future being with 24 months to go.

At that point, it could decide to cash in without the vulnerability of losing Daka on a free a year on, offer him a new deal if it sees a real future at the club, or worse case scenario – end up with a player running down his contract. It remains to be seen what Leicester City will do, but one thing’s for sure, it would be a real waste of potential if the deal never ends up working out.
