Leicester City ready to make first summer signing of 2023
Leicester City are apparently readying an offer in order to complete a first potential signing of summer 2023. Goalkeeper Anthony Patterson is on the wishlist.
The winter transfer window is long shut, but that doesn’t mean the Foxes aren’t searching for talent. The goalkeeping area is one we believe needs strengthening, unless Daniel Iversen is eventually given a chance at top level.
And, conveniently, the east Midlanders are supposedly ready to bid for a stopper. LCFC want Sunderland goalkeeper Patterson; Wolverhampton Wanderers are also credited with an interest.
Leicester City FA Cup rotation a fine balance consequent to unacceptable exit
While I do not wish to question Brendan Rodgers’ right to swap personnel, I do think one or two of his matchday choices were wrong in the Blackburn Rovers contest. In addition to that, the former Liverpool head coach refused to acknowledge his mistakes in-game – until it was too late. If you are unsure exactly who I’m referring to, the culprit is leftback Luke Thomas.
Thomas seems like a nice young chap, I’m certainly not trying to bash his confidence at all. Although, it is my job to pinpoint issues, and the defender has caused them when in the side recently. Many Leicester supporters consider the Fox insufficient for top-flight standard, yet he really struggled versus Championship opposition on Tuesday evening. I counted five or six errors and a naive booking in just 35 or so minutes of the match.
The Northern Irishman failed to correct himself and substitute the struggling footballer at half-time, for his own good and to aid a positive outcome. The latter proceeded to be at fault for the second Rovers goal; Thomas was then, finally, promptly removed. Meanwhile, incoming goalkeeper Daniel Iversen was impressive, so some examples came to fruition.
