Following Brendan Rodgers’ press conference, Foxes of Leicester detail injury news and predict a Leicester XI for Southampton versus Leicester City.

Yep, it’s gonna be an old-fashioned six-point shootout for the Foxes and the Saints on Saturday evening. Neither of them can afford to lose this one, hence my dramatic introduction. While the east Midlands club are 14th in the Premier League, the home side are currently rock-bottom of the English top-flight. Two wins separate the pair, although victory for SFC would obviously mean only a three point separation and would cause the Blue Army further distress .

The King Power outfit will likely already be on the South Coast, or travelling down in preparation for the weekend clash that means so much. Leicester’s win probability is 36 per cent, a mere 1% higher than their relegation rivals. A draw is clearly also a probable outcome for this one. With respect to the direct form guide concerning five previous meetings, the King Power outfit have been victorious on two occasions. Southampton, meanwhile, were only successful once; two draws also occurred in that time. My prediction is a very tight LCFC triumph at Saint Mary’s Stadium, though that may be wishful thinking from a professed Fox.

Predicted Leicester City lineup for Southampton game

Before FoL assess the team Rodgers will probably select, we need to know which Leicester stars are available and unavailable. First of all, there are no fresh Foxes injuries, thankfully. Nevertheless, Youri Tielemans’ six week absence is worrying.

Most importantly for the King Power side is that James Maddison has been deemed fit by his manager; to be specific, the Northern Irishman said Maddison ‘should be fine’. There is a chance that Ricardo Pereira soon takes Timothy Castagne’s starting place, but possibly not yet. The expected XI is below the link.
