Unless there was an injury, illness or personal circumstance that led to his absence, it would appear that he and Jannik Vestergaard are battling it out to be fifth choice in the pecking order with Daniel Amartey and Jonny Evans selected as substitutes ahead. It could be that Soyuncu has played his last game at the King Power Stadium, and regardless of one’s views on whether he should be given another chance, it’s a shame for everybody that his full potential was never realised in the East Midlands.

Leicester City in serious danger of being cut adrift

It’s now six defeats in seven for Leicester City, who after only falling into the bottom three on Saturday, now find themselves two points behind even the 18th place directly above them. Crystal Palace in 12th now have a five point buffer to City, with only 27 more points available to the East Midlands outfit.

City were better, although Saturday’s defeat (possibly their worst performance of the season) set an incredibly low bar and could be beaten by simply turning up, but still outclassed by a side who have been coached into winning football matches. Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall’s ill-discipline with two cautions in just six minutes meant they were up against it for 20 minutes.
