Leicester injury news: probable Maddison return date
Foxes of Leicester detail the latest Leicester City injury and fitness news. This includes a probable James Maddison return date following illness.
Prior to Leicester’s desperately needed victory against Midlands rivals and fellow contenders for relegation, Wolverhampton Wanderers, Dean Smith outlined what was required in order to defeat the opposition on the day. First of all, the Foxes boss revealed that his team would not sit back in a low block as they did versus Manchester City. Some observers might perhaps find it strange for a manager to reveal a defensive plan before the game, but that’s precisely what Smith did. He basically meant the defence would play a higher line and would be more on the front foot than against Pep Guardiola’s men. Secondly, the gaffer at LCFC said he wished that fans would see a side ‘demanding in possession’. Not to mention hopefully being ‘a threat at the top end’. I think the King Power club achieved this.
Next up for Leicester is the typically difficult task of beating Leeds United at Elland Road. Obviously they have had much better squads over the ages, yet the cauldron-like stadium thanks to passionate support is enough to at least destabilise visitors. As the table stands, Leeds are currently one point and one Premier League place above LCFC. The lower outfit have a better goal difference, something which may become key as the season reaches its climax.
Leicester City injury news: probable James Maddison return date
Two important players who were missing on Saturday and are necessary going forward, are Maddison and Harvey Barnes. Maddison was absent at the weekend due to a sickness bug; he was said to be “devastated” not to have been involved.
However, there is good news as the midfielder should be fit for Tuesday’s fixture with the Whites. Barnes is also expected to return.
