Leicester City’s England international winger Harvey Barnes is seemingly already thinking about leaving King Power Stadium – when he should be focused on survival.

In my opinion, Barnes has inadvertently revealed his own intentions to leave the Foxes. In addition to that, the LCFC star also superficially confirmed that players such as Youri Tielemans, Caglar Soyuncu and even James Maddison have designs on different respective surroundings in 2023/24. Obviously we know the club is likely to cash in on Maddison due to the state of the outfit and because the Three Lions man only has one year remaining on his current contract. Tielemans and Soyuncu have been tipped to go for a while, and appear to be content with those decisions. So what did Barnes say, exactly?

Basically, certain media members, along with some fans, question players’ commitment to the cause when they are due to depart Filbert Way. I can totally understand that. Remember when Ben Chilwell literally protected his move to Chelsea by pulling out of challenges and going half measure for Leicester a couple of years ago? Yeah, me too! The motivation of specific Foxes was put to Barnes, and he said this:

"“All the lads who are out of contract at the end of the season, or whatever their situation, none of them want to leave this club in a worse position,” he told Sky Sports . “That is not how anyone wants to leave. Nobody wants to leave on a bad note.”Leicestershire Live"

As you can read for yourself, the 25-year-old is talking about teammates who’ll soon be out of contract like they have already left the east Midlands side. Isn’t there a chance any of them will re-sign? Probably not. Yet Barnes confirms it all for me. He also indicates he and Maddison are considering their own futures at the most weakest of modern Leicester City moments. Cheers, lads.

Next. Leicester vs Liverpool: predicted and preferred Foxes XI. dark

In the words of the great Christopher Walken whilst portraying Vincenzo Coccotti in True Romance, “What we got here is a little game of show and tell. You don’t show me nothin’, but you tell me everything!”. Barnes possibly isn’t the shrewdest of interview operators and was transparent here. My advice to him and the team is to do everything and anything you can versus Liverpool. And mainly to get your mind off the beach and the dream transfer you haven’t earned this season! Because the standing of this club means an awful lot to many of us.
