Leicester City Football Club remains strangely linked to high profile incoming transfers amid a wildly uncertain future in the east Midlands.

To be honest, we all expected Foxes transfer gossip to continue despite significant uncertainty at the outfit. Yet the absurdity of linking elite footballers to a team more than likely to be relegated to the Championship is undeniable. The King Power side are relatively notable worldwide, particularly for the unfathomable 2015/16 Premier League title triumph. Nevertheless, as a supporter of LCFC myself, I know there is not a comparison here to Manchester United or Arsenal hypothetically dropping down a division. Irrespective of instability and the unknown, media and journalists connect Leicester with a chance of signing noteworthy or well-known sportsmen.

Even recently, LCFC were supposedly after Lois Openda, Renato Sanches, Anthony Patterson, Mike Tresor and Enzo Le Fee. However, even the youthful up-and-coming or mediocre top echelon athletes would think twice as they’ll forever aim to be competing in the English top-flight or the eminent five European leagues. Nonetheless, if we believe current stories, Khun Top Srivaddhanaprabha might perhaps be readying the cheque book – does that method of payment actually still exist? – to fill in imminent squad gaps. Sitting somewhere between both categories is apparent defensive midfield target Lassana Coulibaly. He plays for Salernitana in Serie A; the Italians are 15th at the moment.

Next. Leicester opinion: seeking Everton retribution stinks of desperation. dark

Can they do it – can Leicester City beat Newcastle United and West Ham United?

I’m not giving up on the Leicestershire team’s survival chances yet, in spite of how close we are to being demoted. Defeating Newcastle is something the Foxes have managed on many occasions over the years. Although, the Magpies were victorious in four out of the last five meetings. West Ham are also beatable, especially with concentration understandably being on the Europa Conference League Final.
