Leicester fullback may leave Foxes with transfer home
A Leicester City fullback may still leave King Power Stadium this summer with a transfer back to his home country. Foxes of Leicester provide details.
Another high profile Fox could be on his way out soon. There are stories suggesting that Ricardo Pereira may return to Portugal.
"Leicester City fullback Ricardo Pereira could be on his way to his former club, according to reports from Portugal.Newspaper Correio da Manhã today features a short piece saying the 29-year-old could reinforce the Dragons’ squad in the summer window. It’s pointed out that following Leicester City’s relegation to the Championship, he could be one of those on the way out of the club. For now, there aren’t any details whether there are advanced talks with Porto for his return to the Estádio do Dragão."
Potential Timothy Castagne of Leicester City to Arsenal transfer wrongly described as shock
Leicester fans won’t be that surprised – possibly slightly peeved and worried – if the Belgian quartet of Castagne, Dennis Praet, Wout Faes and Youri Tielemans all exit the east Midlands team this summer. Of course, Tielemans has already signed for Aston Villa. The Villans are not quite the mega money, Champions League side he expected to have knocking on the door after at least one relatively poor term of displays.
Faes has potential to be a classy operator at the back due to possessing all the necessary skills. But he is overconfident or something. LCFC supporters won’t be that concerned if they get a decent price for him. I’ve always thought Praet might one day play a significant role for Leicester. Yet, as with all of his Foxes managers, I haven’t been able to figure the part out.
If Arsenal sign Castagne, as is widely rumoured in the occasionally incorrect football media sphere, then he will be in their squad as a backup. Unsurprisingly, many Gunners supporters on Twitter seemed to understand that likely strategy more than adequately. Mostly the North Londoners’ fan base sounded content with the supposed news.
However, some members of the Blue Army might be nonplussed to learn that not all of the AFC faithful were satisfied with Castagne even as a mere understudy. They also noticed that the Belgium international is not as adept at defending as attacking. And he can be anonymous going forward occasionally, too. Nevertheless, I think he’d serve well as No.2 to either Arsenal fullback.
