Join us to watch Ricardo Pereira’s goal from Leicester City’s first preseason friendly versus Peterborough United. Meanwhile, a Foxes striker has been sold.

If you weren’t aware of the game because it was played behind-closed-doors, Leicester played English Football League One side Peterborough on Tuesday. Some of Enzo Maresca’s tactics are outlined underneath photographs.

According to Leicester Mercury, Ricardo Pereira played as an inverted fullback, covering the central area with Harry Winks when in possession.

Conor Coady is said to be a natural leader in blue.

Winks is labelled as instrumental in LCFC play.

Kelechi Iheanacho is a player who’d be great to keep.

The gaffer.

The assistant gaffer.

James Justin was in action. Justin is considered a real top level prospect by many, including myself and more importantly England manager Gareth Southgate. It will be a surprise but not a shock to have the flying fullback in the Championship, due to playing for Luton Town in lower leagues a few seasons ago. The occasional wingback could be a revelation for the Foxes in the upcoming campaign if he stays on Filbert Way.

Above is Ricardo’s goal; the Portuguese drove forward well and finished very confidently on his weaker foot.

Leicester City striker sold

George Hirst spent four years at LCFC but never challenged the centerforward status quo. Not that he really had a chance to fulfil promise; the 24-year-old made only a couple of first team appearances for the King Power outfit. He seems to have been judged on loans, in which he was a third tier success. He didn’t quite have the same impact in the Championship.

Nevertheless, Hirst has transferred to second division club Ipswich Town; they were recently promoted. The attacker impressed enough for the Tractor Boys to sign him on a permanent deal; he joins the Portman Road club on a four year contract.
