Leicester City apparently aim to sign Manchester United prospect Hannibal Mejbri. Meanwhile Wilfred Ndidi is targeted by a Midlands club.

Leicester have conducted some particularly promising business during this offseason. The high profile and early arrivals of midfielder Harry Winks and Conor Coady were at the forefront. Coady’s injury has somewhat blighted the centreback joining the east Midlands team, but he’ll be a fine addition for a Championship squad when fit. Then there are fresh faces in loanee defender Callum Doyle and goalkeeper Mads Hermansen. A fifth signing is almost through the door at City, according to the trusted Fabrizio Romano. Could a sixth capture be on the horizon at King Power Stadium? Potentially. There is a suggestion in the media that the Foxes may make a move for Manchester United youngster Hannibal Mejbri. LCFC supposedly have Luton Town as competition to secure the Red Devils starlet. An unnamed club are monitoring the midfield man who can potentially play as a No.8 or No.10. However, the player might actually prefer a move to the Premier League, which is unsurprising with the 20-year-old rated highly. Mejbri even featured for United in their friendly against Wrexham; he received a rating of six from this reporter, but was said to be lively. The Tunisia international’s contract expires in 2024.

In his current state, losing Ndidi wouldn’t be a problem for Leicester. At his best, the Nigerian would be a huge miss. The fact that his form suffered badly over two years means that many fans are not worried about his exit.

I am sure that the 26-year-old considers himself good enough to remain in the EPL. Nonetheless, the Championship is closer to his contemporary output. Rival Midlands side Nottingham Forest could try to take Ndidi away from the Foxes.
