Foxes of Leicester provide injury news on Jamie Vardy, along with his possible return date. Meanwhile Leicester City are on the verge of making three more signings.

Once the first name on the Foxes team sheet for a host of Leicester managers over the years, Vardy’s contemporary standing among fans is more polarising. Some want him to stay and play, others consider him too old and want him to go away.

The legendary striker missed the practice fixture against Thai club Port FC on Wednesday. However, thankfully for those of us who know the attacker still has something to offer, manager Enzo Maresca gave a positive fitness update. The 36-year-old will likely be included in the next Leicester matchday squad (Liverpool, Sunday, July 30):

"“Jamie’s okay. He just had a very small problem against Leuven a week ago. But he was on the next pitch running and training, so it’s okay. It was just a small problem, and hopefully he can be with us in the next days.”"

Leicester City expected to make three almost imminent signings

According to speculation of varying degrees of ranking – Fabrizio Romano being the finest one and tabloids making up the lower ranks – the east Midlanders are set to secure a fifth acquisition any time now. Stephy Mavididi is the man in question; a medical was conducted. He is a 25 year old professional who is presumably the Harvey Barnes replacement. Mavididi is predominantly a winger but can play as a centreforward or a second striker.

Secondly we have Arjan Raikhy, formerly of Aston Villa. The midfielder is 20 years old and was released by the Villans as last season expired. After an apparently successful trial with the Under-21s, City are ‘poised to announce’ an agreement. He had been the subject of interest from teams such as another west Midlands outfit in Wolverhampton Wanderers. Raikhy has, though, supposedly ‘chosen’ the King Power side.

Finally on the list, there is Silko Thomas. Chelsea have disregarded a number of starlets this summer; Thomas was one athlete to leave the Blues on a free transfer. At the time of writing, the winger is said to be in advanced talks to join the Foxes. He is a 19 year old ex-England Under-18 star.
