Leicester City midfielder Wilfred Ndidi’s Foxes future is now clearer after boss of the King Power club Enzo Maresca apparently made a decision on the Nigerian.

Ndidi eventually leaving this summer would be almost as unsurprising as the exits of Youri Tielemans, James Maddison and Harvey Barnes. Although, the Nigeria international hasn’t been performing on the level of the latter two for around two years now. Tielemans’ quality is still apparent in spite of a couple of slow campaigns himself at King Power Stadium. Therefore, Ndidi getting a ‘dream’ move is less likely than the previously mentioned group of leavers. I don’t think any of the aforementioned trio were granted their ideal respective transfers in Aston Villa, Newcastle United or even Tottenham Hotspur.

Regardless of my view that Ndidi desperately needs to revitalise his club career at the very least, top tier teams are supposedly monitoring his situation and considering whether to sign him or not. LCFC’s Midlands rivals Nottingham Forest were one of the most recent sides linked with the 26-year-old. Irrespective of that speculation, the defensive midfield specialist, who was once the most impressive Premier League tackler and interceptor, may well stay on Filbert Way. He is contracted for another season and is not ‘too good for the Championship’ as I see it. Moreover, journalist Ben Jacobs claims that Foxes head coach Enzo Maresca wishes to retain Ndidi. What Leicester City gaffer Enzo Maresca said following final friendly defeat

After City’s 4-0 drubbing from Liverpool at Singapore National Stadium, Maresca spoke to the media. The Italian stated that he was impressed at how his men were able to deal with the imposing Reds during the early stages of the exhibition contest. In addition to that, the 43-year-old insited that his group were ‘good’ on the occasion, regardless of the result.
