Predicted Leicester XI and injury news for Huddersfield game

With concentration back on the EFL Championship, Foxes of Leicester focus on predicting a Leicester City starting lineup for the Huddersfield Town match. Did any of the alternated personnel from the League Cup win against Burton Albion impress enough to affect Enzo Maresca’s lineup or system plans? And does fitness news bring problems for the Foxes?

Before we look at team updates and envisage a starting LCFC side for the Huddersfield game, what did FoL learn from the Burton clash? Well, probably the most significant new aspect of the Carabao Cup contest was Wilfred Ndidi’s foray forward. Not to mention his brilliant as well as untypical strike. The Nigeria international’s goal was not the most difficult of chances against lesser opposition, but he finished it with aplomb. Fielded in a higher position, will Maresca be tempted to do the same with Ndidi on Saturday? Possibly. Will Harry Winks fill in as the sole defensive midfielder whilst the former and crucial Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall play more attacking roles? Maybe.

These elements will be on the Leicester manager’s mind at present. Ultimately, the injured Mads Hermansen may be one of only two omissions from the XI for the Coventry City victory. Conor Coady remains sidelined; Victor Kristiansen is ready to return. Therefore, we can predict a starting side: Jakub Stolarczyk (goalkeeper), Callum Doyle, Wout Faes, Jannik Vestergaard, Ricardo Pereira; Winks, Ndidi, Dewsbury-Hall; Stephy Mavididi, Kasey McAteer; Kelechi Iheanacho.

The Italian in charge at LCFC also spoke on a further number of matters. For example, be was asked about the out of favour Luke Thomas, Boubakary Soumare and Harry Souttar.
