Wanya Marcal-Madivadua. The young winger, in only his second league start, put in a good shift encapsulated with a stunning strike to give the Foxes the lead. In the second half, he struggled to get behind the Cardiff defence often preferring to come inside. 7

Kelechi Iheanacho. In the first half, the Leicester number 14 was very effective looking the most likely player to break the deadlock. He faded in the second half, though, not surprisingly given the close attention he was subject to from the Cardiff back-line. Vardy came on to replace him after 76 minutes 7

Stephy Mavididi. Like Iheanacho, the new recruit looked much more effective in the first half, almost opening the scoring from a tight angle after being put through on goal. Like the rest of the LCFC forward line, the number 10 struggled to make an impact in the second half although he was always available to receive the ball. 6

Cesare Casadei. A dream debut for the young midfielder. Prior to his strike in injury time his approach play was neat and tidy without looking particularly threatening. 6

Jamie Vardy. The Leicester legend typically worked his socks off in the latter quarter of the game, assisting in the goal and generally trying to prevent the Welsh side from moving the ball forward. In the dying embers of the game he chased the ball down and ran with it to the corner flag earning the plaudits of his manager for his selfless play. 7
