A vital Leicester City player is now supposedly increasing likely to stay at King Power Stadium amid transfer rumours, suggests an LCFC expert. Will striker Kelechi Iheanacho remain a Fox? Keeping the Nigerian would be amazing – but he’s probably too good for the second tier and should be playing in one of Europe’s top five leagues.

Enzo Maresca did it again. The Italian running the show on Filbert Way has won all four of his first matches as he sets a new Leicester record. The man from Italy may not have his team firing on all cylinders at this early stage of the season, but nobody can argue with the positive results which see them joint first on points in the Championship table. LCFC did what they do best at present: win games – just! Cardiff City were the latest on the wrong side of the Foxes as the east Midlanders stride steadily towards a return to Premier League, which must not be taken for granted.

After the win against the Welsh outfit, Maresca gave the usual pre-match press conference. The former Manchester City coach said that he believes the first half display was the best from his men during the 2023/24 campaign so far. In addition to that, the Italian was impressed with the amount of chances they created. The dangerous attacks of Stephy Mavididi in particular were singled out as impactful.

Will Kelechi Iheanacho remain a Leicester City asset for Championship season or rightfully go back to the Premier League?

Could Iheanacho lead the line week in week out for a Premier League club? Potentially. I would argue that he’s a centreforward who’s actually earned that right or chance though he’s never been given it. Thankfully, LCFC journalist Jordan Blackwell claims the Nigeria international is currently more likely to stay at Leicester than leave this summer.
