Reports from South America claim that Leicester City have young winger Brian Aguirre “on their radar”. Reporter Hernan Cabrera of Argentine radio station LT8 claims that the Foxes have already submitted an offer for the youngster. However, it is uncertain how serious Leicester are in their pursuit of the Argentine given the lack of reports from other reputable news outlets.

Aguirre plays for Newell’s Old Boys in the Argentine first division and has also represented his country at the U-20 level numerous times. Playing his first full senior professional season, Aguirre has started the majority of Newell’s games and has scored once and assisted four times in the twenty league games he has been involved in so far.

The young Argentine is primarily deployed as a winger on either side but has played up front occasionally. From the limited video clips and data available on him, it is evident that he’s a skillful dribbler who loves taking his man on. Aguirre was on the scoresheet in Newell’s 2-0 victory over Central Cordoba on Monday.

Given that Leicester are in search of a new winger, Aguirre could be effective on the right-hand side for the Foxes. He shouldn’t find it too difficult to settle in the Championship despite his young age.

Valued by Transfermarkt at €4m, it is likely that Newell would want around €6-€10m for his services. There is no doubt that Aguirre has the potential to be a good player and Enzo Maresca’s Leicester could be the perfect platform for the youngster to grow and reach his potential.

However, fans will have to curb their excitement on the possibility of Aguirre joining the club till a reputable European news source confirms the Foxes’ interest in the player. Leicester are also reported to be interested in Crystal Palace starlet Jesurun Rak-Sakyi and Galatasaray’s Yunus Agkun.
