Clearly Leicester City Football Club haven’t learned much after an increasing amount of modern transfer errors, as the latest Foxes revelation comes to light.

While Leicester seemed to learn from the debacle departure of N’Golo Kante to Chelsea regarding a ridiculous release clause many years ago, they have not taken note of other failures concerning outgoing players. Obviously the Foxes were astute enough to discover the Frenchman and win a title with him. They had to lure him in some way, but that undervalued loss is still mentioned by the Blue Army while chatting behind pints.

The contemporary problem that LCFC finds itself with, of its own design, is not lowering prices and therefore retaining unwanted players. Not to mention possible wage bill and potential Financial Fair Play implications. Basically, Youri Tielemans would be the ideal example: he was kept to help avoid relegation when a decent price could have been obtained. That scenario failed to come to fruition. Now, stupidly, the east Midlands club have five senior goalkeepers when only three are required. They presumably refused to faily negotiate the sale of Daniel Iversen to Crystal Palace in the latest stubborn example of tough negotiators not always winning.

Former Leicester City midfielder Papy Mendy finds a new club

I always thought Mendy was slightly underrated and didn’t quite receive a fair quota of opportunities on Filbert Way. Obviously he was always second, third or even fourth choice at Leicester during his time with the team. Nonetheless, he often stood out as one of the more committed and consistent overall performers when rarely afforded a chance.

Nevertheless, a conveyor belt of managers declined to regularly or decisively utilise the Senegal international. This meant that an out of contract Mendy would ultimately leave Leicestershire on a free. Lens were the side who had the foresight to acquire the midfield man; the 31-year-old recently put pen to paper on a two-year deal. Foxes of Leicester wish the Senegalese all the best after seven seasons with the King Power club.
