Here is some Leicester City injury news and possible return dates for defender Conor Coady, midfielder Dennis Praet and newly signed attacker Tom Cannon. In addition to covering specifics from the fitness area, Foxes of Leicester speak on further topics mentioned by head coach Enzo Maresca in his latest Foxes press conference before LCFC’s crucial clash against Premier League promotion rivals Southampton.

Following a torrid result against Hull City at King Power Stadium, Leicester dropped from first to third in the Championship. That is not a major demotion, nor is the outcome something for the Italian in charge or the faithful Blue Army to worry about too much at this stage. Besides, the start to the 2023/24 campaign was endlessly bountiful before Foxes faced Tigers. Maresca must get his men producing victories again, even if not in fully convincing style as Leicester fans have become accustomed to. Saying that, champions often ‘win ugly’, so to speak. Automatic promotion is the key; a playoff run could prove tricky.

Thankfully, one sure to be important man to the east Midlands team’s cause is set to be available for his competitive debut soon. Conor Coady might perhaps be in the matchday squad on Friday ready to face the Saints; Coady is not said to be at 100 percent strength, although he remains important. Meanwhile Dennis Praet and new man Tom Cannon are both still sidelined.

Maresca spoke of Patson Daka recently, which is rather intriguing. The Zambia international was expected to leave over the summer by many. This view arose due to the striker being out of favour with the LCFC gaffer. However, the former Manchester City staff member revealed that there may be a way back in for Daka in the right circumstances:
