What the Foxes have is depth in many positions, so expect to see the likes of James Justin, Hamza Choudhury and a debut for Conor Coady against his boyhood club. There’s no doubting Maresca will approach the game to win it, but the in-built pragmatism that shapes his playing style will by definition see the fixture taken with a different approach.

Potential upcoming suspensions

City’s men have not been afraid of bringing their opponents down in transition this year, with the midfield duo of Dewsbury-Hall seemingly having their one moment of desperation per game. The latter is on three bookings so a suspension from a single yellow here is impossible, while Winks is running the tightrope of one yellow card meaning a single-match ban.

If the influential No. 8 was planned to be rested for this one, it would have made sense for him to pick up a booking against Bristol City on Saturday to get this suspension out of the way, but this did not happen. The other Fox running that risk is Jannik Vestergaard, who picked up a daft caution against Norwich last Wednesday – a suspension for the Dane could see him lose his place to Conor Coady long term.
