Foxes of Leicester comment after Leicester City head coach Enzo Maresca was asked if there is room for defender Harry Souttar. Big things were expected at King Power Stadium from the big Australian, but his Foxes career has stuttered rather drastically. Is there a future for the centreback on Filbert Way? Meanwhile, FoL take a look at a potential weakness of Sunday’s Championship opponents Blackburn Rovers, thanks to an eagle-eyed pundit.

There aren’t too many towering centrebacks who could possibly balance an imposing physique with a deft touch on the ball at elite level. If you witnessed Souttar showcase his skills for his international team or when at Stoke City, you’ll know he possesses high quality. Albeit there have been some rocky moments on occasion everywhere. One or two errors stood out in the wrong way for the Foxes, especially last season.

While previous managers at Leicester lost faith or patience with the towering Aussie, Maresca never gave his player ample opportunities to impress or find that necessary form. The reintroduction of Jannik Vestergaard to the starting lineup certainly dented Souttar’s hopes of actually having a proper chance to prove to the Italian that he is the right man for the job. The Dane has kept his position admirably, overall. However, after impressing in his first start for Maresca, not to mention the roster dealing with Callum Doyle’s lengthy injury problem, the boss says Souttar will be considered.
