Blackburn 1-4 Leicester: 3 impressive Foxes in away victory
Dewsbury-Hall put himself about, but at times was off his decision making. It seemed to get better in the second half somewhat, maybe due to a speech from the manager. The main reason I put him in my top three was his goal. No matter how the rest of his day went, that was an absolutely sublime chip finish over the Blackburn keeper. Admittedly it was their back up keeper, but you can only chip whats in front of you right?
Next in my top three ranking would have to be the goat of goats himself, the inevitable Jamie bleeping Vardy. Vardy is the reason I started watching this team, some 10 odd years ago. I was so enamored by the way he harassed center halves of opposition sides that I just randomly chose Leicester as the team I would support. A decade on Vardy is still providing me with countless cheeky moments and beautiful goals.
Vardy’s goal today was just another step forward in his progression under our new Italian manager. Even more so than before you can see him dropping deep to link play, and doing it well. Sure, he’s not Iheanacho in terms of bodying defenders and holding the ball, but his pace and cunning allow him to perform the same job differently to Kelechi, but still effectively.
At the tippity top of my rankings mountain comes the man I have defended vehemently since preseason, Jannik Vestergaard. While Wout Faes deserves honorable mentions if we are giving this out to defenders, Vestergaard was absolutely immense today. I truly wish he had scored instead of Faes so people would have to get off their high horses and finally accept that it was Brendan Rodgers who was the problem, not the experienced Dane.
