Foxes of Leicester are in untypical sombre mood because the brightest new Fox on the block is unfortunately injured. We take a look at a possible Kasey McAteer return date, as well as assessing other Leicester City injury news and suspensions.

A breakout star, indeed. The epitome of. McAteer is the new fan favourite on Filbert Way. He is this season’s top goalscorer, no less. What a transition the winger has made from prospect to loanee, and on to undroppable starter. The Premier League eagerly awaits his inclusion, hopefully with Leicester in 2024/25. But, unfortunately for the Foxes, the young Englishman has suffered an injury. The incident occurred very publicly at Blackburn Rovers’ Ewood Park, whilst being televised. Everyone watching live on TV or at the ground knew instantly that McAteer was not OK. It was actually quite difficult to watch, of course amplified by the fact that it was a youthful professional obviously in pain and reduced to tears.

At Tuesday’s LCFC press conference before the east Midlands team play Preston North End, head coach Enzo Maresca confirmed the length of his player’s unavailability. The 21-year-old will be sidelined for at least one month, yet could be out for around six weeks. Bad times. This means McAteer is unlikely to feature in the big game against Leeds United. Although he might perhaps return for the Middlesbrough or Watford fixtures. Sadly, the revived Jannik Vestergaard shall also miss the Preston outing as he serves a one-match suspension. Maresca revealed no other fresh injuries.

Ndidi has candidly admitted to his struggles adapting to a new style and altering his own role in the side. The Nigeria international suggested that making such a transition from defensive to attacking midfield is not easy. Well, he’s made it look that way to us!
